The Crime Stoppers of Somerset County Inc. is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information concerning the 1973 disappearance and murder of Bound Brook resident Joseph Dziowgo, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey Soriano. According to Soriano, on May 10, 1973, Bridgewater Township Police received a report that then 25-year-old Dziowgo, living on Drake Street in Bound Brook, was missing. In May 2010, Soriano said, Somerset County Prosecutor's Office detectives spoke to Dziowgo's family about a DNA initiative through the University of North Texas. Elizabeth 19-year-old was teasing friend when he got pulled under water Sunday.
BRIDGEWATER, NJ — It began as just a joke with a friend, and turned tragic when a 19-year-old was pulled from the Raritan River Sunday afternoon. After about 15 minutes underwater, first responders pulled Elizabeth resident Pedro Rosa from the Raritan River, just west of Milltown Road on Sunday at about 4:20 p.m., police said. First responders initially revived Rosa on the scene, where he was found without a pulse and not breathing. A 19-year-old man who was pulled from the Raritan River Sunday afternoon died Sunday night, Bridgewater Police Chief Richard Borden said. Pedro Rosa, of Elizabeth, was revived after being pulled from the river just west of Milltown Road. Rosa was found without a pulse and not breathing, police said. He was revived on the scene and transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where he died Monday morning, Borden said. This is truly a tragedy. However, the most over-used and inappropriate phrase that ALWAYS comes up in such stories is "... so that this can never happen again." This is life, people.
