Teen Airlifted After SUV Hits Concrete Bridge

Accident occurred on Willow Road near Hillsborough Road Thursday night.

A 16-year-old passenger needed to be extricated and airlifted to the hospital after an SUV struck a concrete bridge structure on Willow Road and rolled over several times near Hillsborough Road Thursday night. The accident occurred shortly after 9 p.m., as the vehicle was traveling north on Willow Road at a high rate of speed, police said. The 17-year-old driver, of Princeton, lost control of the 2004 Mercury Mountaineer as it crossed Hillsborough Road, police said. The driver was able to get out of the vehicle, and was taken by Hillsborough Rescue Squad to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries, police said. Downed Power Lines Close River Road

Crash occurred earlier in the day, but power crews have been unable to repair the wires.

River Road remained closed Monday night near the Branchburg Township border—where it is known as Opie Road—after an afternoon crash downed a utility pole and power lines. Though Neshanic Volunteer Fire Co. Chief Bill Iden was unable to comment on whether the crash injured anyone, he did say that the person got out of the vehicle unaided. The car, which Iden said was a minivan, hit the power pole and downed the lines at about 1:30 p.m. No power outages have been reported in the Hillsborough portion of the area. Neshanic Volunteer Fire Co. members and the Branchburg Police closed the road shortly after the incident and have been monitoring the situation since.  Storm response delayed the power company that owns the pole from coming to repair…

Hillsborough Woman Injured in Franklin Crash

Two-car crash occurred Tuesday on Blackwells Mills Road.

A Hillsborough resident was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center in New Brunswick with neck and leg injuries from a Tuesday car crash on Blackwells Mills Road in Franklin. According to Franklin Township Police Sgt. Phillip Rizzo, Kimberly Kirwan, 35, of Hillsborough, was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Franklin Township Police responded to Blackwells Mills Road near the intersection of Van Cleef Road around 4:28 p.m, for a serious motor vehicle crash. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a 1997 Toyota Corolla, driven by Tejas Patel, 20, of Somerset, collided with Kirwan's 2006 Honda Odyssey, police said. Minor Injuries in Millstone Two-Car Crash

One person taken to hospital following accident at intersection of Millstone River Road and Somerset Courthouse Road

Police reported only minor injuries were sustained Tuesday afternoon in a two-car crash at the intersection of Millstone River Road and Somerset Courthouse Road. According to police, a red Toyota that was making a left onto Millstone River Road collided with a black Acura RDX that was traveling north on Somerset Courthouse Road at about 4:30 p.m. The force of the impact mangled the Toyota's front end, caused the airbag in the Acura to deploy and dislodged the driver's side rear wheel on the Acura. Only minor injuries were sustained in the crash, police said. The East Millstone Volunteer First Aid squad transported one patient with minor injuries to the Somerset Medical Center. UPDATE: HIllsborough Woman Dies of Injuries From Dec. 14 Crash

Lakshmi Raman, 32, was seriously injured in the Dec. 14 crash.

A Hillsborough woman involved in a three-car crash on Amwell Road last week has died from her injuries, a spokesperson from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick said Tuesday. The spokesperson could not say when Lakshmi Raman, 32, passed away, however.  She was transported to the hospital Dec. 14 after the crash that occurred at about 9:30 a.m. According to Hillsborough Police, David Parisi, 32, of Bridgewater, who was driving a white box-truck, rear-ended Raman's black Toyota Corolla while both were driving east on Amwell Road. The caused the Toyota to cross into the westbound lane of Amwell Road, where it collided with a silver Ford driven by Brittany Citron, of New York, police said. Citron sustained minor injuries in…

Pedestrian Hospitalized After Being Struck on 206

Woman's identity withheld pending notification of family, police continue investigation.

A 46-year-old woman was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick after being struck by two vehicles while attempting to cross Route 206 South Friday night. Police are withholding her identity pending notification of her family, according to a statement released Saturday by the Hillsborough Township Police. According to the release, the woman was attempting to cross Route 206 near Farm Road around 6:11 p.m., and was struck by a vehicle driven by Jason Robinson, 34, of Hillsborough. She was then struck by a second vehicle driven by Christopher Krulewicz, 24, also of Hillsborough. Krulewicz's vehicle then struck the rear of Robinson's vehicle, police reported. Police Investigate Route 206 South Accident

Somerset County Prosecutor's Office also on the scene.

Hillsborough Township Police and the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office investigated a Friday evening accident on Route 206 South between Triangle and Farm roads.  Details were not immediately available regarding the incident, which occurred at about 6:20 p.m., and may have involved a pedestrian being struck. The Hillsborough Rescue Squad, police and Somerset County Prosecutor's Office remained on the scene as of 7:45 p.m. The investigation forced police to close Route 206 South between Triangle and Farm roads for about two hours, though Route 206 North remained open. Hillsborough Patch will provide updates as information becomes available.

Millstone River Road Reopened After Truck Fire

No injuries occurred from the fire, police said.

A fire in a pickup truck owned by a commercial landscaping company forced Hillsborough Township Police to close Millstone River Road from Amwell Road to Blackwells' Mills Road Saturday. The road reopened around 3:30 p.m. Hillsborough Police Corporal D. Fisher reported receiving the initial call around 2:19 p.m. According to Cpl. Fisher, the driver smelled something burning when driving on Millstone River Road, pulled over, and noticed smoke coming from the vehicle's dashboard. He was able to escape from the vehicle uninjured. The fire destroyed the vehicle, however. Hillsborough Volunteer Fire Companies No. 2 and 3 responded to the scene and extinguished the truck using fire fighting foam.
