NY Jets coach 'did not deny causing the accident' after allegedly going through red light.
New York Jets head football coach Rex Ryan told authorities he was trying “to beat the light” when he apparently caused a minor three-car crash during the evening rush hour last week in Bethlehem, Pa., police said. The accident occurred at the intersection of Wyandotte and W. Third streets, just south of the Hill-to-Hill Bridge on Jan. 14 at 6:13 p.m. One eyewitness and the driver of one of the other two cars in the crash told police they saw a 2013 red Ford Mustang, which Ryan was driving, go through a red light as it traveled west along W. A downed traffic light caused by a motor vehicle accident left heavy traffic delays on Route 206 Tuesday morning, according to the Hillsborough Police Department. The accident took place in the area of Homestead Road according to an alert issued through Nixle at 7:51 a.m. on Tuesday. The accident appeared to be a single-car accident involving a gray Ford. The traffic light pole was snapped at the base, with the light resting along the road. Police told motorists to expect heavy delays while the situation was being tended to.

An accident on New Center Road Wednesday morning caused a section to be closed for a short period of time. The road has since been reopened. An alert issued from Hillsborough police at 8:54 p.m. said the road was closed between Roycefield Road and Auten Road due to a motor vehicle accident. Police released an alert at 9:17 a.m. saying the road had been reopened.

Dukes Parkway East has been reopened following an accident that closed the road down early Tuesday evening, according to Hillsborough Township Police. Police issued an alert at 5:59 p.m. saying the road was shut down between Manville and Route 206 due to a crash. About an hour later police issued another alert saying the roadway had been reopened.

Three victims of a single-car crash that shut down Route 78 eastbound on Saturday were flown to area hospitals, while two others were taken their via ambulance, according to the New Jersey State Police. Julio Maradiaga-Ramirez, 23, of North Plainfield, was driving near the 39.3 mile marker on the eastbound side of the highway in Warren Township at about 4:30 p.m. on Saturday when he lost control of his silver Honda Civic, running off the left side of the road, hitting trees, and flipping the vehicle, according to Lt. Stephen Jones. The car was carrying five passengers when it crashed, and the police report indicated that some of the occupants were not wearing seat belts, Jones said. An accident on Route 78 eastbound in Warren Saturday shut down the highway and backed up traffic for miles. UPDATE: Internal injuries and head lacerations were suffered in crash, police say. The accident involved one vehicle and all five occupants were transported to area hospitals, according to New Jersey State Trooper Boazej Oczkos, who said that no fatalities had been reported as a result of the accident as of 8 p.m. An eyewitness at the scene said the accident shut down the eastbound side of the highway, and that two medivic helicopters landed at approximately 5:15 p.m. The right lane and the shoulder of the eastbound side of the highway were the first to be reopened, Oczkos said.

No serious injuries reported in two-vehicle accident.
A late morning two-vehicle accident on Route 206 south of Amwell Road by the entrance to Nelsons Corner tied up traffic into Montgomery to the south and past Triangle Road to the north on Thursday. No serious injuries were reported by emergency responders on the scene. According to those responding, a Ford SUV was traveling north on Route 206 when the accident occurred. Even though the SUV rolled over the safety equipment–front and side airbags, and seat belt–allowed the occupants to avoid serious injuries, according to emergency responders.

Accident closed roadway Wednesday night between Sunnymead Road and Manville border.
An SUV severed a telephone pole before ending up in a ditch along Weston Road Wednesday night. The crash closed the roadway between Sunnymead Road and the Manville border Wednesday night following the accident at about 9 p.m. It was not re-opened until Thursday morning, according to a Nixle alert released by the Hillsborough Police Department at about 6 a.m. The vehicle struck a pole on the curve east of Sunnymead Road. There were no injuries in the accident.

No one seriously injured in accident.
No one was seriously injured after an SUV was destroyed by fire in a two-vehicle crash on Sunnymead Road late Wednesday afternoon. The accident, which occurred shortly before 6 p.m., closed Sunnymead Road, just east of Sunnymead School, during the evening rush hour. According to EMTs at the scene, no one was seriously injured and no one needed to be transported to the hospital. The cause of the two car accident, which occurred shortly before 6 p.m., is under investigation.
