Player known for charitable efforts as much as gridiron successes sees portrait added to public gallery.
The visage of NFL Pro Bowler and Hillsborough High School alum Shaun O'Hara joined Hillsborough's public art gallery Friday as his portrait was unveiled at the opening of the Hillsborough Cultural Arts Commission's ninth Annual Fine Art and Photography Exhibit. The exhibit opened with a collection of works by area students and adults, which were judged by professional artists. Awards were presented for the judge's first, second and third place choices, as well as honorable mentions. But it was O'Hara's appearance that captivated the crowd. A player known as much for his off-the-field charitable efforts as his outstanding performance on the field as a center for the Super Bowl-winning New York Giants, O'Hara joked about only being in the …

Freshman from Hillsborough allows one hit in nine inning win.
Just three days removed from arguably the finest Wagner pitching performance in the program's Division I history, freshman LHP Paul Mammino, of Hillsborough, has been named as the College Baseball Insider Louisville Slugger National Pitcher of the Week. Mammino fired a complete-game one-hitter in leading the Seahawks to an 8-1 win over Central Connecticut in the teams' series finale this past Sunday. Mammino was magnificent in securing a series split for the Green & White, and the freshman lefty nearly threw a no-hitter in the process. The first-year Wagner hurler twirled a nine-inning, complete-game victory and took a no-hit bid into the ninth inning against the Blue Devils. After recording the first out, Dylan DelaCruz laced a single …

The Bridgewater-Raritan High School boys lacrosse team, ranked No. 10 by NJ.com, took on rival Hillsborough in a regular season game played Wednesday at home. The reigning two-time Tournament of Champions champion Panthers are making the transition into 2013 with essentially a new team. "We have a new bunch of kids and we are finding our way," said Bridgewater head coach Chuck Apel. "We are learning as we go and we are playing some young kids and are struggling in some spots."
