One of the many township offices in the town's Municipal Building, the Board of Education offices houses offices of…More the district's superintendent, assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction, business office, special education offices, and administrative offices. Scott Rocco, the district's superintendent for personnel, serves as interim school superintendent currently, following the former superintendent's June 2010 departure from the district. In October, the nine-member Board of Education appointed Jorden Schiff, who is superintendent in the Readington School district, as the new superintendent. Dr. Schiff's term in the district is expected to begin in January 2011. In addition to Mr. Rocco and Dr. Schiff, business administrator Aiman Mahmoud and superintendent for curriculum and instruction Lisa Antunes round out the district's top administrators.
Other administrators include curriculum and content supervisors, school principals and vice principals, for a total of 37 administrators.
In addition to the main district operations, the offices serve as a contact point for the township's Board of Education. Community members volunteer for the three-year board seats, and run for the positions during April's school elections.
The Board of Education typically has two meetings per month, including a work meeting typically held on the second Monday of the month. The second meeting, called an action section, where votes on policies and practices take places, is usually held on the third Monday of the month. The meetings occur at 7:30pm in the Auten Road School cafetorium unless otherwise noted.
