I never wanted to Ballroom dance, I thought, and was coaxed by my wife a few years ago to try a lesson. Our luck was to connect with Denisa and Marek at G&J, who are both amazing instructors.
We have a new passion and take lessons a number of times a week. We are also doing ProAm and Amateur competitions (DanceSport series) in NJ, NY, PA, Boston, Las Vegas, and in other places, and depending on competition, doing very well!
I tell my male friends, if you like music, exercise, and women, you should try Ballroom, and definitely at G&J. Where else do you get to train with the owners who are experienced at world championship level dance?
For starters, I would suggest a Group Class or two, and then see where this might lead you.

So nice to see your notices on Patch. (I'll still check your website weekly!) G&J Studios has created a marvelous community of very friendly and supportive amateurs and professionals, full of smiles, encouragement, and excellent guidance. The combination of support and emphasis on "doing the right thing" has exceeded my expectations of what dance lessons could bring to my everyday life as a social (non-competitive) dancer. I love both the challenge of learning and the exercise, and could never have done this without the support of the other students and the impressive knowledge of the instructors who truly understand body movement and can communicate how to modify them to partner effectively and efficiently. Watching them dance is such an inspiration, and learning alongside caring students of all levels truly helped me get past my self-consciousness and focus on the joy and spirit of dancing. Thank you to everyone at G&J for bringing all your positive energy and encouragement to lessons and socials! It's such a wonderful outlet, and I recommend this studio to everyone who expresses an interest in dancing.
