School Board's Reorganization Meeting a Historic First

Also, planning and zoning boards hold reorganization meetings this week.

When the Hillsborough Board of Education meets for its reorganization meeting at 7:30 p.m., the meeting will have some historical significance: it's the first time a reorganization has been held in January.

After approving the change in school elections that moved the board election to November, the board also shifted its calendar to extend terms to expire at the end of December.

Never before has the Hillsborough board held its reorganization meeting in January—but the meeting will likely unfold as any other reorg meeting.

New board member Debashis Dutta, of Collins Drive, will join the board, along with re-elected members Greg Gillette and Thomas Kinst.

Two other township boards hold their annual reorganization meetings this week, the board of adjustment (on Wednesday) and the Planning Board (Thursday).
