School Board to Reverse Change of Benefit Plans This Week

And Raritan Valley Chorus performs at Hillsborough Reformed Church, Friday.

When the Board of Education meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday, board members will consider resolutions to undo a change in medical benefits plans approved in October for district staff.

The board had approved a change for 2014 to the New Jersey School Employee’s Health Benefit Plan from BlueCross Blue Shield.

But new rates from BlueCross BlueShield are drawing the board back, and the resolutions, if approved, would direct Business Administrator Aiman Mamoud to rescind the switch.

The board will also vote on a temporary assignment for former Auten Road Intermediate School Principal Hal Blackstone to spend 10 days as principal at Amsterdam School, while Amsterdam Principal Mary Ann Mullady is out Dec. 10 to Dec. 20.
