A powerful lineup is expected to rock the Sourland Music Festival Saturday at the .
The Sourland Planning Council said this year’s performers are The Ernie White Band, Laura Cheadle, Leslie Ford & Group, Chuck Schaeffer, Briz and Todd Wolfe.
The event, which runs from 4 to 10 p.m., will feature roots rock, blues, jazz, acoustic and bluegrass jams by accomplished local artists. The music festival, in its ninth year, has a Sunday raindate.
“It’s our own mini Woodstock," Sourlandfest Coordinator Tom Kilbourne said. "The festival is a family-friendly day-long event overlooking the beautiful rolling hills of the Sourlands and the Amwell Valley. Bring a blanket, lawn chair, and umbrella and sunscreen if you arrive early. Sorry, no coolers this year but lots of great new foods and drink available including beer and wine from the club."
There will be a raffle of an Imagine Surf stand-up paddle board and paddle, courtesy of sponsor Blue Ridge Mountain Sports of Princeton. A 50/50 raffle is also being held.
Meet the Bands
Headliner: Ernie White Band—Former RCA recording artist Ernie White is part of New Jersey’s rock legacy. Ernie has penned songs for Richie Sambora (Bon Jovi), performed with Glen Burtnik & Southside Johnny and has written for film and TV. On any given night, EWB can combine rock, blues, folk, jazz R&B and reggae for one wild ride.
Todd Wolfe: International touring blues musician. Played with Sheryl Crow & Leslie West.
Chuck Schaeffer: Current CD "Along These Lines" No. 39 on National Roots Country Chart
Laura Cheadle: Regional sensation breaking onto the national scene. Appeared on NBC 10 Morning show in Philadelphia. The Hit radio station 93.7 WSTW voted Cheadle "Best Female Singer of 2009" and "Best Female Artist of 2010.
Food, drink, and alcoholic beverages available for purchase, no coolers are allowed. Proceeds benefit the non-profit Sourland Planning Council. Admission is $20 per person, $5 kids under 13.
