Raider Named High School All-American

Gina Li, off to Rutgers in the fall, is one of the top tennis players in the country.

The graduating senior was named a National High School Tennis All-American. The honor comes from the National High School Tennis All-American Foundation.

It was just the latest honor for the Rutgers-bound tennis star. Hillsborough head girls tennis coach Larry Johnson, who expressed his excitement for Li, provided a list of the amazing statistics she compiled during her four-year dominance at Hillsborough High School. Here's why she's one of the best in the country:

Freshman Season (2008)

Record: 13-4-1

Accomplishments: First-team all conference; first-team all county

Sophomore Season (2009)

Record: 23-3

Accomplishments: Semifinalist, NJSIAA tournament; first-team all state; first-team all county; first-team all conference

Junior Season (2010)

Record: 18-4-1 (Career: 63-11-2)

Accomplishments: Quarterfinals, NJSIAA tournament; first-team all state; first-team all county; first-team all conference; first-team all area

Senior Season (2011)

Record: 24-1 (Career: 78-12-2)

Accomplishments: Semifinals of state singles tournament; Somerset County champion; first-team all Skyland conference, Delaware East division; player of the year, Somerset county (Star-Ledger); second-team all state; all-area player of the year (Courier News)
