Woodfern Principal Resigns to Lead a School District

Joseph Majka to become superintendent of Bradley Beach in Monmouth County.

The accepted the resignation of Principal Joseph Majka at its meeting on Monday night.

Majka will become superintendent and principal of the one-school district in the Monmouth County community of Bradley Beach.

"We will miss him very much,” Superintendent of Schools Jorden Schiff said.

The resignation will be effective Aug. 15 or sooner if a replacement can be found.

Majka became principal of Woodfern last year. He joined the school district in 2009 as vice principal at .

Majka is a former U.S. Marine and an attorney, He earned a bachelor's degree in history from Rutgers  and a law degree from Seton Hall University.

Majka earned $98,906 in 2011.
