Thomas Kinst to Lead School Board for Another Year

Members welcome new member Debashis Dutta and tap Jenn Haley for vice-president's role.

After a 20-month term as board president, members of the Hillsborough Board of Education felt it wasn't yet time for Thomas Kinst to put down the gavel, re-electing him to another year at Monday's reorganization meeting.

Kinst was re-elected to a three-year term in November, along with Greg Gillette, and was sworn in to the term at the meeting.

Joining the board was Debashis Dutta, a 13-year resident of Hillsborough and  member of the Hillsborough Education Foundation.

Dutta was also sworn in, joining the board in votes for president and vice president—for which members unanimously chose Jenn Haley.

After quickly dispensing with the votes, the board returned to its agenda, enjoying a presentation by middle school students on the school's Future of Educators of America Club and the Student Council.
