Up to seven inches of snow could fall before this evening.

Hillsborough schools will have early dismissal today because of the winter storm which the National Weather Service said could drop as much as three to seven inches of snow this afternoon.

Also, the district has canceled all after-school programs, afternoon kindergarten and after-care programs.

Classes at Hillsborough High School will be dismissed at noon; middle school classes at 12:30 and ARIS at 1:15 p.m. Students at Amsterdam and Triangle schools will be dismissed at 11:50 a.m. (10:20 a.m. for the morning kindergarten class), and students at Hillsborough, Sunnymead, Woodfern and Woods Road schools will be dismissed at 12:30 a.m. (kindergarten at 11 a.m.).

The snow is expected to continue until about 1 a.m. as an arctic front moves into the area.
