IN SHORT

For the entire first half of action, the half time score was a 15-15 tie.  Strong defense and weak shooting by both teams made for a less than exciting game.  But coming out of the break, two different teams took the floor.  Bridgewater played with more flair, Hillsborough more open.  And the two teams doubled their half time score in the third period.

Both team kept it close and at 1:29 in the fourth period, Robbie Myers scored and was fouled and the score was again tied at 43 all, but Myers would miss the free throw.  Hillsborough would take the ball down the floor and Devonn Foster would get fouled.  Although he missed the front end of the 1-and-1, the miss was rebounded and the Raiders would go up to stay.

RAIDER OF THE GAME

Alec Johnson – “He came in and provided a spark when we needed it.  He came in and made some really nice passes and did some good things and hit a key jump shot when the offense broke down.” – Hillsborough coach Ian Progin

RAIDER KEY PERFORMANCES

Devonn Foster – Foster lead all scorers with 19 points, all coming in the second half.

COACH'S TAKE

“We tried to change defenses to confuse them a bit, but Devonn (Foster) got two big baskets and Alec Johnson coming off the bench gave us a real nice spark and Jalen Parham had a good game.  You just have to use your whole team the best way you can and try to find ways to win.  We were down 10 and the next thing you know we are right in the game.  The boys handled the end of the game quite well, a lot of poise, a lot of discipline.  A couple of big offensive rebounds at the end, and we weren’t doing it for most of the game, came at the right time.  And we made foul shots at the right time (5 of 8 in the fourth quarter).  I couldn’t be more proud.  It is a nice win on the road against a very, very good defensive team.” – Hillsborough coach Ian Progin

UP NEXT - The Raiders will host Bernards for a Somerset County Tournament game on Saturday at noon.
