Boguszewski was unable to have an in-person interview, but responded to Patch's questions via email:

Patch: What made you first get involved with the Board of Education?
Boguszewski: A friend of mine called me and told me that there was a vacant seat on the board and that I should apply. I love children and our community so I thought why not, the true success of any child is a strong community and excellent teachers. Hillsborough has both!

Patch: What do you believe have been the board's biggest accomplishments while you have served?
Boguszewski: One of our boards biggest accomplishments were that all nine of us agreed on the budget.

Patch: What are your thoughts on the district budget not going to the 2-percent cap?
Boguszewski: We stayed well below cap and in doing so we still managed to hire 22 new staff members. The board voted on a fiscally responsible budget that addresses the needs of our school district while still staying 1.2 percent below cap.

Patch: What are the biggest challenges facing the district?
Boguszewski: One of our biggest challenges facing the district is trying to decide what is best for the students, teachers and our community.

Patch: What are your goals if elected?
Boguszewski: One of my personal goals is to continue talking to parents and neighbors about what they want to see happen in our district and how to keep Hillsborough one of the top 100 places to live!

Patch: Why should Hillsborough residents vote for you?
Boguszewski: I am easy to talk to, a great listener, and a team player. In the past 10 months, I have helped hire three teachers in the elementary schools, help pass our budget and I am hoping to continue to reduce class size to 22 students per teacher.

students will moderate a at the high school on Monday, April 16 at 7 p.m., before next Tuesday's election. Polls will be open next Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m.
