The Hillsborough Public Schools will be closed for the sixth and seventh straight days, the district announced on Saturday.
Schools will be closed on Monday and Tuesday due to continued road closures, power outages, and downed power lines, according to the district.
The district website said school will open on Wednesday. Also, unlike previously scheduled, there will be school on Thursday and Friday. The NJEA annual educator's convention in Atlantic City was scheduled at the end of the week, but has since been cancelled. The district is using the opportunity to make up some of the days.
Children will also not be trick-or-treating on Monday as some had hoped after the governor's executive order to move it from this past Wednesday. The township said on Saturday that due to the continued dangerous conditions it is postponing Halloween activities until Nov. 16
