High School Fundraiser Tempts Taste Buds [VIDEO]

Student-designed sundaes add to school's class spirit contests, while raising funds for activities.

Ask Hillsborough High School students what's good in an ice cream sundae, and you'll get a range of answers—mostly ending with cookie dough.

Put them behind the counter at Super Sundaes, where they get to create a signature confection for the store's annual "Survivor Sundae" fundraising contest, and words like "cookies," "cookie dough" and "Oreos" are heard a lot.

Super Sundaes launched its third annual "Survivor Sundaes" contest Friday, and owner Jayne Mochnacz said she will donate $1 of each of the four student-created sundaes sold until March 22 to the respective class—with some added bonuses along the way to keep things interesting.

Last year, Super Sundaes donated more than $1,200 after 1,122 sundaes were sold for the event—this year could be even more, especially if there are a lot of cookie dough fans out there (and who isn't?).

Students Christine Cassimatis and Haley Milano (representing the senior class), Michael Reilly and Ryan Goldberg (for the sophomores) and freshman Max Nelson explain their creations in the video, as well as offer some app[etizing reasons for why customers should select their class sundae.

All Super Sundaes customers can participate, and if you'd like to support a class but can't eat as many sundaes as you'd like, you can get a gift card, valid until July 31, to use when the cravings hit.
