Heat Prompts Half-Days Wednesday and Thursday

Temperatures forecast between 97 and 99 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday mean Hillsborough students will have a half day of school those days, according to the district website.

Lunch will not be served and field trips have been canceled as a result, the message read. Evening activities may still take place, though parents should refer to their school website to determine whether activities will be postponed.

The eighth grade class trip to Gettysburg and Hershey, Penn. will proceed as scheduled and an exception to the field trip cancellations, according to the Hillsborough Middle School website.

Activities scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday include Hillsborough High School's senior awards night, set for Thursday, Auten Road Intermediate School's fifth grade band concerts, set for Wednesday, and Auten Road Intermediate School's DARE graduation, set for Thursday.
