Colleges Announce Local Graduates

Recent announcements include Anell Alexis, Francesca Behling, Blair Capriotti Jr., Justin Giarrusso, Jonathon Kaiser, Priyanka Kelshikar, Carolyn Kolb and Joseph Riccardi.

Haverford College is pleased to announce the graduation of Francesca Gabriella Behling, daughter of Ron Behling and Fina Raccuia-Behling, and a graduate of The Princeton Day School.

One of 296 members of Haverford’s Class of 2013, Behling received a bachelor’s degree in political science with a concentration in Latin American and Iberian studies and a minor in Spanish during commencement ceremonies in Haverford, Pa., on May 19.

Behling’s senior thesis, the culmination of the Haverford academic experience, is entitled, “Resistance to Violent Dictatorships in Latin America: The Factors that Affect Their Methods of Resistance.”

While studying at Haverford, Behling was co-captain of the women’s fencing team. She was named Second-Team All-Conference her freshman year, voted to the Eastern Women's Fencing Conference first-team all-star squad her junior year, and named an EWFC First-Team All-Star her senior year.  Behling was also an upper-classman advisor in Haverford’s freshman orientation program and served as co-president of The Outskirts, a cappella group on campus. She worked as a mentor at the Haverford Writing Center and was president of the Environmental Action club.

Jonathon Kaiser and Priyanka Kelshikar received degrees from University of the Sciences, in Philadelphia, during a bachelor's degree conferment ceremony on May 17, 2013.

Kaiser received a bachelor of science in pharmaceutical and healthcare studies degree and now continues on a path towards a doctor of pharmacy degree.

Kelshikar received a bachelor of science in pharmaceutical and healthcare studies degree and now continues on a path towards a doctor of pharmacy degree.

Two Hillsborough students graduated from Marist College the weekend of May 24:

  • Anell Alexis received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication;
  • Joseph Riccardi received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Adolescence Education.

Carolyn Kolb graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science/Pathologists' Assistant from Quinnipiac University during the 82nd Undergraduate Commencement held May 19.

Justin Giarrusso graduated May 12 from Ohio Wesleyan University. Giarrusso earned a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Ohio Wesleyan's Class of 2013 included 381 spring, summer, and fall graduates, with 64 cum laude, 34 magna cum laude, and 19 summa cum laude honorees.

Blair Capriotti Jr. received one of the 1,165 degrees (781 bachelor's degrees, 358 master's, and 26 PhDs) awarded during Worcester Polytechnic Institute's commencement ceremony on May 11, which took place outdoors on the WPI quadrangle. Additionally, 328 degrees were awarded earlier this academic year.

Caprioti was awarded a bachelor of science degree in aerospace engineering.
