Auten Road Students Hop it Up With 5K Trophy

The inaugural Hoppy was given out as 65 smiling faces cheered.

Adele Morgan, a swim coach and registration coordinator of the , presented the first annual Hoppy Trophy to students who ran in the race.

The 65 kids cheered when the trophy was presented to principal Chris Carey in the school cafeteria last month.

Many of the students who ran in the Hop were participants in the IRUN training and self-esteem program (I am Responsible, Unique and Noble), sponsored by the Hillsborough/Millstone Municipal Alliance and Youth Services. The trophy, designed by the Y and engraved with the name of the winning school, will travel each year to the district school with the highest percentage of participants in the Hop.

The 12th annual Hillsborough Hop raised more than $10,000 this year in support of the Y’s Strong Kids campaign.
