After Students Petition, Library Hours Extended

After more than 600 students , the approved on Monday night two media specialists to add hours before and after school.

Judith Everett and Connie Swanzer were approved to work up to 5.5 hours per week, before and after school, for most of the remaining school year.

Board Member Thuy Anh Le said the additional hours were prompted by overtime costs so the library could be open more hours. Le asked if those hours will be funded in the fall.

“How are we going to handle it next year?” she asked.

Scott Rocco, assistant superintendent for personnel, said the discussion of  "re-aligning” the media centers is a ongoing “process” and no final decisions have been reached.
