The Hillsborough Health Department will have monthly extended hours, joining the construction and clerk's offices in providing the additional time for residents to access the department's services.
Deputy Mayor Douglas Tomson announced the department's new hours, which will begin Jan. 22 and continue on the fourth Tuesday of each month. The department, including the Registrar of Vital Statistics, will be available from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on those nights.
"This is yet another effort in making the municipal offices more accessible to our residents," Mayor Frank DelCore said.
The Health Department and Registrars office provides certified copies of vital records, marriage and civil union certificates, and birth and death certificates (for events occurring in Hillsborough).
Residents can also drop of donations for the township food bank, and pick up recycling buckets during the extended hours for the Health Department and Registrar of Vital Statistics office.
Currently, the construction office is open until 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and the clerk's office is open until 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.
