The third ordinance, 2011-22, revises the minimum floor area requirements in the Gateway A district.

The fourth ordinance, 2011-23, amends the town’s sign area requirements for wall, corner and canopy awning signs in several commercial districts, and estates a size cap. The ordinance would cap sign area at 10 percent of the building’s façade area or 40 square feet, whichever is larger, in industrial and commercial districts. Canopy and awning signs would be capped at 30 square feet.

The ordinance follows several Planning Board applications with signs larger than the township would prefer in certain areas. It does not apply to freestanding signs outside a business, however.

The fifth ordinance updates the duties of several township employees, particularly the director and assistant Director of Parks and Recreation and the Director of Public Works.

The sixth ordinance transfers the bonds associated with the Claremont Sanitary Sewer Extension Project to the Hillsborough Municipal Utilities Authority.

One ordinance, 2011-18, will be introduced at the meeting. It allows the township to accept a conservation easement.

The meeting’s considerations agenda includes approving budget transfers, a resolution authorizing Police Chief Paul Kaminsky to post for a Police Clerk position, and a resolution authorizing a special item of revenue and appropriation.

The consent agenda includes authorizing a $19,282.63 transfer from the Subdivision and site plan engineering trust account to the treasurer account, granting permanent employee status to Court Administrator Nancy Horvath, a resolution authorizing a grant application and the execution of a grant contract with the New Jersey Department of Transportation for the Highway Safety Grant project, and a $25, 532.11 refund of tax overpayments that covers 14 properties.

One proclamation, recognizing resident Connie Johnson for receiving the Outstanding Researcher Award for wound care, will open the meeting.

The Township Committee meets at 7:30 p.m. in the Municipal Courtroom.
