Rainy Forecast Threatening Flash Floods

Combined with high winds, could make a long night.

A new weather system is moving into the area and with it, flash flood warnings through the night, according to the National Weather Service.

The Weather Service forecast notes periods of locally heavy rain, and gusting winds up to 45 mph late Wednesday and early Thursday.

Such weather often brings flooding on the Millstone River, especially at places like Blackwell's Mills and Griggstown—but the U.S. Geological Survey's River Watch monitors are predicting water levels just under flood stages on the Millstone River.
