Community Health Fair to Include Medical Professionals, Community Groups

Township sets two sessions of annual event for May 16.

Hillsborough Township Health Department has lined up presenters and events for this year's annual Community Health Fair, with two sessions slated for May 16 at the Peter J. Biondi Building.

The sessions include an afternoon program prepared for seniors, with glaucoma, hearing tests and more offered by Princeton Health, Somerset Medical Center and the Community Visiting Nurses Association. 

The afternoon session will also feature performances by the Hillsborough Rocket and Rockettes, exercise demonstrations, presentations by the Neshanic Garden Club and refreshments.

The senior programs are offered from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., and will be followed at 4:30 p.m. with the Community Health Fair for all ages.

Offered until 7:30 p.m., the fair includes presentations by Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops, the Neshanic Garden Club and The Circus Place.

Health professionals participating in the event include Dr. Naveen Mehrotra, of SKN Foundation; St. Peter’s Health Care; Somerset Medical Center; several Hillsborough fitness groups and gyms; ShopRite Dietician Rachel Simpers, RD; and the Hillsborough Rescue Squad.

Proving the event is aimed at all health concerns, St. Hubert's Giralda representatives will also be on hand to discuss pet health and safety.

The Community Health Fair is free and open to the public. Giveaways and refreshments will be pffered throughout the day's events.
