Congressman Says Hillsborough Enjoys 'Good Government'

Says his two wishes for 2014 are for an improved economy and safety for U.S. military personnel.

Speaking at the Hillsborough Township Committee reorganization meeting, U.S. Rep. Leonard Lance, R-7th Dist., praised Hillsborough's township government and new mayor, Douglas Tomson.

"I try to work as closely as I can with the distinguished members of this governing body and I hope you agree with me, ladies and gentlemen, you have a very able governing body here in the Township of Hillsborough," he said.

Rep. Lance also said he knew Mayor Tomson from Tomson's work for the New Jersey Association of Realtors, where he is director of Government Affairs.

"He and I have met on numerous occasions making sure that the American dream of owning your own residence continues to exist in this country," Rep. Lance said.

Rep. Lance also offered his two wishes for 2014: that the economy continues to improve and reduce unemployment and that U.S. troops overseas are safe.
