Caliguire Fills Vacancy on Somerset County Freeholder Board

The Montgomery Township mayor fills the last year of Jack Ciatarelli's term.

Former Montgomery Mayor Mark Caliguire was sworn in Dec. 13 to fill a one-year unexpired term on the Somerset County Board of Chosen Freeholders.  He replaces Assemblyman Jack M. Ciattarelli, who resigned as freeholder following his election to state office.

“The Somerset County Board of Freeholders welcomes Mark and looks forward to working with him,” Freeholder Director Robert Zaborowski said.   “His experience and dedication to the residents of Montgomery will transfer well in his new role and will benefit all of the citizens of Somerset County.”

“I am excited about stepping into a new challenge in public service,” Freeholder Caliguire said.  “The Somerset County Freeholder Board has a reputation for operational excellence and is completely aligned with me in a desire to spend taxpayer money wisely and keep taxes stable for our residents.  These are challenging times at all levels of government in New Jersey and in my new role I hope to work closely with all Somerset County municipalities to find shared efficiencies.”
