3 Candidates Filed For 2 Committee Seats

June primary will contain the names of two Republican incumbents, one Democrat.

With two seats on the Hillsborough Township Committee up for grabs in the November general election, only three residents have come forward to run in the June primary.

Two of those are the incumbent Republicans whose current terms are ending. They are Mayor Carl Saruci and Committeeman Bob Wagner.

The third is the lone Democrat to file for the primary, Michael Goldberg. Goldberg is the chair of the Hillsborough Democratic Organization.

Since there are two seats available, all three candidates will be running unopposed in the primary. Two of the three would potentially fill the expiring terms after November's election. It is possible that a second Democratic candidate could make his or her way on the general election ballot with a successful write-in campaign.
