Uniform Crime Reports Shows Slight Variance in 2010 Incidents
In some cases, the number of reported crimes dropped from 2009, while others increased.
Hillsborough Township saw a slight drop in the number of violent crimes from 2009 to 2010, according to the FBI’s annual Uniform Crime reports.
According to the report, the township saw 16 incident of violent crime in 2009, but the number dropped to 14 incidents in the 2010 reports. The number of reported forcible rapes dropped by three incidents as well, with only two in 2010 and five in 2009.
However, the township saw an increase in aggravated assaults, property crimes, burglaries and arson. Aggravated assaults increased by three incidents, moving from seven to ten, while burglaries increased by six incidents, from 55 to 61 incidents. Arson incidents increased from a single incident in 2009 to six incidents in 2010.

Property crimes increased by three incidents, moving from 266 in 2009 to 270 in 2010.
