Three Hospitalized After Route 206 Accident

Police withhold information on one driver pending notification of family members.

A two-car crash Friday on Route 206, near Valley Road, sent three people to area hospitals — including one driver whose name and condition following the accident have not been released yet.

The accident occurred at about 1:30 p.m. Friday when a vehicle heading north on Route 206 crossed the center line and hit a vehicle driven by Annie Gitonga, 58, of Whitehall, Pa.

Gitonga and a passenger in her vehicle, Hillsborough resident Jane Glover, 62, both sustained minor injuries and were taken to Somerset Medical Center.

The driver of the vehicle that allegedly closed the accident was also taken to a hospital, which was not named by police.

The road was closed for about four hours Friday following the accident.

Responding to the incident were Hillsborough EMS, Hillsborough Fire Volunteer Co. 2, Somerset Medical Center Mobile Intensive Care Unit and investigators with the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office.
