Head-On Collision Sends 3 to Hospital

Three people were hospitalized after a head-on collision on Amwell Road at about 5:45 p.m. Thursday, police said.

Carol Zdan, 57, and Katherine Hunter, 48, both of Hillsborough, and an unidentified passenger in Hunter's vehicle were taken to Somerset Medical Center following the accident near the exit for the Route 206 bypass under construction.

Police said Zdan was heading west on Amwell Road when the 2007 Ford she was driving crossed the center line and hit the Toyota Hunter was driving east on the road.

Hillsborough Rescue Squad transported both drivers and the passenger to Somerset Medical Center, where they were treated for injuries and released.

Hillsborough police are continuing to investigate the accident and reported no summonses have been issued.
