Three Daytime Burglaries Reported in 10-Day Period

Hillsborough police continue investigating reported break-ins.

Hillsborough police received three reports of burgaries between Jan. 10 and Jan. 20, all occurring during the daytime, according to the homeowners. 

Two of the victims are still determining what items may have been taken, but a Surrey Drive resident reported jewelry valued at $17,860 had been taken Jan. 10.

A Hockenbury Road resident reported a burglary to the house while it was unoccupied during the daytime hours Jan. 11, while a Zion Road resident reported a similar burglary Jan. 20.

Daytime buglaries have often vexed investigators, since neighbors may overlook potentially suspicious visits to a neighbor's house. Many detectives encourage residents to report any unknown vehicles at unattended houses for long periods of time.
