Police Use GPS to Track Garage Door Store's Alleged Burglar

East Orange man accused of stealing $3K worth of tools from Route 206 business.

Hillsborough police charged Louis March, 34, of East Oange, with the Sept. 5 burglary of a van after checking his vehicle's GPS system, according to an article posted on MyCentralJersey.com.

Police were investigating the 4 a.m. theft at Hillsborough Garage Door Store, on Route 206, in which tools valued at about $3,000 were stolen, the article said.

Using a surveillance camera's video, police were able to identify March's vehicle and interviewed him at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center, in North Brunswick, after South Brunswick police charged him with an attempted burglary there and contacted Hillsborough police. According to court documents, police were able to track his movement on Sept. 5 through his GPS.
