Police Investigate Burglary Attempt at Camplain Road Business

DWIs and other items top the reports from the Hillsborough Police.

An attempted burglary netted no items for the alleged thieves, according to reports from the Hillsborough Township Police Department.

Hillsborough Police responded to a burglar alarm at a Camplain Road business on May 10, determining that someone kicked in a garage door panel in an attempt to burglarize the business.

Nobody was found inside the building and the owner reported that nothing appeared to be taken.

Robert O'Keefe Junior, 29, of Hillsborough, was charged with driving while intoxicated at 9:42 p.m. May 9, after the green Chevrolet he was operating was involved in a crash on Triangle Road. O'Keefe allegedly obtained breath test results of .14 percent blood alcohol and was released after processing.

CoPart, located on Camplain Road, reported that a brown Chevrolet and three green Toyotas were stolen from its property some time between April 14 and May 9.  The value of the theft was reported to be $6,708.

Jennifer Tozzi, 35, of Raritan, was charged with shoplifting $1,795 of clothing and jewelry from Kohl's on May 6. Store security allegedly caught her with the clothing and jewelry in her purse and diaper bag, police said.  She was released after processing.

Two Hillsborough 17-year-olds were taken into custody for possession of marijuana under 50 grams, following a May 1 traffic stop on New Amwell Road. The matter has been referred to the Hillsborough Police Juvenile Bureau for charges, police said.

Scott Sutton, 40, of Hopewell, was charged with driving while intoxicated at 9:44 p.m. April 29, after police received reports of a black Ford striking parked vehicles on Bloomingdale Drive. Sutton allegedly obtained breath test results of .06 percent blood alcohol and was released after also being charged with careless driving, failure to have his vehicle inspected, leaving the scene of an accident, and failing to report an accident.

Carl Odums, 24, of Somerset, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia during an April 16 traffic stop on Amwell Road. He was released after processing.

A Gaffney Court resident reported that their home was burglarized during the overnight hours on April 16. Electronics valued at $350 were reported stolen during the incident.
