Mississippi Man Indicted on Sexual Assault, Endangering Charges

Thomas Pumphrey faces charges after allegedly sending obscene videos to 14-year-old Hillsborough girl.

A Mississippi man was indicted last week in Somerset County Superior Court on charges he sent sexual assault, endangering  minor and criminal sexual assault, Thursday, according to a report on MyCentral Jersey.com.

Thomas Pumphrey, 55, of Henando, Miss., was taken into custody Aug. 14 by local detectives in Mississippi, after Hillsborough police began investigating a complaint by the parents of a 14-year-old Hillsborough girl that she was receiving pornographic videos by text to her cell phone. Investigators said Pumphrey had posed as a 19-year-old male in his interactions with the girl.

After he taken into custody, he waived extradition and was brought to New Jersey, where he has been held at Somerset County Jail with bail set at $75,000.
