Man Charged With 4 More Burglaries in Hillsborough

Manville resident was already arrested in connection to multiple separate burglaries.

A Manville resident who was previously arrested following a burglary investigation involving multiple counties and agencies has reportedly been charged with four more burglaries in Hillsborough.

Dale Scott, 39, according to published reports admitted to breaking into homes on Murray Drive, Claremont Drive, Homestead Road and River Road from November of last year through early January. He reportedly took items valued at $25,000.

This comes after Scott was arrested with three other individuals in February in connection to burglaries that spanned multiple counties.

According to a release by the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office, the burglaries occurred in several municipalities in both Somerset and Hunterdon counties between Dec. 29, 2011, and Feb. 7. They were committed during daytime hours when the homes were unoccupied and those charged allegedly gained entry to the homes either through unlocked doors or by breaking windows adjacent to doors.

The release says miscellaneous jewelry, coins, cash, laptop computers, game consoles, and small electronic devices were removed from the residences.

Scott was out on bail during the alleged string of burglaries, as he was arrested in Somerset County in December for committing two burglaries in Bridgewater and two in Hillsborough. The Somerset County Grand Jury handed down indictments against Scott on all four of those burglaries.

A task force that was looking into the burglaries was conducting surveillance on Feb. 16 when they followed Scott, Justin Levine, 24, of Manville, and Giovanna M. Rivera, 23, of Newark, to a Weston Road home in Franklin (Somerset).

According to the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's office, the task force entered the home after the three left the area, alleging a burglary had occurred. The force followed the trio in their car to South Bank Street in Manville where they picked up Kristy Campbell, 32, of Manville, who lives at the same address as Scott.

The four allegedly then went to Newark and attempted to sell items allegedly stolen. The task force at that point took the four into custody.

Scott, Levine, and Rivera were all charged with burglary, third degree, and theft, third degree. Campbell is charged with receiving stolen property, third degree.

At the time of the arrest, the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office said the investigation was on-going, with detectives linking Scott to additional burglaries in Hillsborough, Montgomery, Readington, Franklin and Clinton.

The release said the task force was comprised of detectives from numerous law enforcement agencies throughout Somerset, Hunterdon, Morris and Warren counties.
