Drunk Hillsborough Woman Flees Madison Crash, Cops Say

One motorist complained of pain after alleged hit-and-run accident, police said.

A 33-year-old Hillsborough woman was charged with DUI and leaving the scene of an accident after she allegedly hit a moving vehicle in Madison and fled the scene, police said.

The driver of the struck vehicle complained of pain and was taken to a hospital for evaluation, Det. Kenneth Shannon said.

The driver, Danelle Porrovecchio, was located by Patrolman Carmine DeCaro after a search of the area, and was arrested by Sgt. John Miscia around 9 p.m. Sunday, according to a Madison police news release. Police said Porrovecchio was arrested after alcohol allegedly was smelled on her breath and she performed field sobriety tests.

Porrovecchio was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of an alcoholic substance, careless driving, failure to stop or yield, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident, police said. She was released to a family member pending a court appearance.
