Hillsborough Man Accused of Stealing Car From His Work

David E. Masten, 47, faces receiving stolen property charges.

A Hillsborough man is accused of stealing a car from a Newark dealership where he had been working.

Raritan Township police charged David E. Masten, 47, of Hillsborough, with receiving stolen property on Oct. 8, after the used car dealership he had been working reported a vehicle was missing, according to NJ.com.

An article from the Hunterdon County Democrat posted on the site said an employee of the Newark dealership reported the vehicle missing for a few days prior to Oct. 8 and said the vehicle may be parked in Flemington at the Diamond Nation sports complex parking lot.

After locating the vehicle and verifying with Newark police that it had been reported stolen, police took Masten into custody, the report said.
