Firefighters Respond To Fire Above Country Corner Deli

Hillsborough firefighters from several fire companies responded to a fire inside walls in an apartment above the Country Corner Deli on South Branch Road, Friday morning.

The call was first reported at about 9:45 a.m. Although damage was limited, the location of the fire within walls of the unit kept firefighters searching for the source of the fire after an hour at the scene.

A renter living in the apartment was home at the time of the fire, but was not reported injured, officials said.

Firefighters from Neshanic Volunteer Fire Co., Hillsborough Volunteer Fire Co. no. 2 and Woods Road Volunteer Fire Co. responded to the scene, as well as police and Hillsborough EMS.
