Fire Burns Between Shire Court Townhouses

No injuries in incident quickly brought under control by fire fighters.

A fire in the wall between adjoining townhouses on Shire Court caused smoke and minimal damage to the kitchens of both units Saturday, according to police.

The fire was reported at 9:28 p.m., with smoke filling 52 and 54 Shire Court. Firefighters were able to quickly locate the fire in the wall between the units, and extinguish it, minimizing damage.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Fire officials have no determined the cause of the fire, but police said it's not believed to have been intentionally started.

Volunteer fire fighters from Hillsborough's fire companies no. 36, 37 and 38 responded to the fire, as well as Hillsborough Rescue Squad. Officials from the township's Office of Fire Safety, building department, Office of Emergency Management and Department of Public Works also responded.
