Emergency Personnel Rescue Motorist Trapped in Flood Waters

Driver reportedly disregarded Millstone River Road barricade.

Police, fire and rescue personnel responded to Millstone River Road after noon today to aid a motorist trapped in a car in the flooded roadway.

Police Chief Paul Kaminsky said that the driver, a woman in her 50s from North Brunswick, drove her vehicle around the road barricade and was trapped in her car in flood waters.

Emergency services personnel utilized a boat to remove the woman from her car. She was reportedly uninjured and transported to police headquarters to await a ride home, Kaminsky said.

“They’re there for a reason,” Kaminsky said of the barricades, as he urged motorist to take the barricades seriously.

Kaminsky also reminded residents to check cable Channel 29 or 1610 am on the radio for an updated list of road closures.
