Electronics, Other Items Reported Stolen From Vehicles

Hindering apprehension, possession of marijuana and other incident round out reports from Hillsborough Police.

Undisclosed items, driving documents and electronics were reported stolen from residents' vehicles, in three separate incidents, Hillsborough police said.

A Huff Lane resident reported that a silver Subaru was entered during the overnight hours on April 25, while it was parked in the homes' driveway.  $1,220 of items were reported stolen from the car.

A Longhill Road resident reported that three vehicles parked in the driveway on April 24 had been entered and a drivers license and vehicle documents were removed.  The inceident reportedly happened during the overnight hours.

A Hillsborough resident reported that her black Nissan was entered and $300 worth of electronics stolen while it was parked at the YMCA on April 21.  The incident is believed to have occurred between 6 and 8 p.m.

A Shire Court resident reported that two tires on her vehicle were slashed during the overnight hours on April 27, while the car was parked in front of her residence.  The tires are valued at $400.

A Raider Boulevard business reported that someone entered it during the afternoon hours on April 22 and allegedly stole $1,000 worth of computer equipment. The Hillsborough Police Detective Bureau is investigating.

Juan Diaz, 46, of Somerset, was charged with using another person's identification and hindering his own apprehension after police stopped him for an alleged motor vehicle violation on Millstone River Road April 17.  Diaz allegedly provided false information to the officer regarding his identity.  He was lodged in Somerset County Jail after also being charged with being an unlicensed driver and driving on a closed road.

Damian Kania, 18, of Hillsborough was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana pursuant to a suspicious vehicle report on Westminster Court on April 15.  Kania was released after processing.

Walter Dietz IV, 26, of Hillsborough, was charged with hindering his own apprehension following an April 2 motor vehicle accident.  According to police, Dietz was  driving a red Dodge on River Road at 1:40 a.m. April 2, when he allegedly struck a utility pole, severing it. Dietz then allegedly drove away from the accident scene and parked the vehicle being a Branchburg residence in order to avoid detection.  He was released after processing.
