Cops: Teens Caught Breaking Into Deer Path Home

Hillsborough 17-year-olds also accused of burglarizing several vehicles in the area.

Two township 17-year-olds were apprehended Wednesday night after they were seen breaking into a Deer Path home and have been linked to several vehicle burglaries in the area, Hillsborough Police said.

According to a report released Monday by the , a burglary in progress of a Deer Path residence was reported Wednesday night at about 10 p.m.

The caller gave descriptions of the two males and the vehicle seen fleeing the area, police said.

When officers arrived in the area, they located the vehicle and apprehended the two teens, police said.

An investigation revealed the teens entered the home through a basement window, police said. The teens are also accused of burglarizing "several" vehicles in the area, police said.

The number of vehicles burglarized was not released.

The type and amount of items taken from the home and vehicles were not released.

The incidents remain under investigation and charges are pending a formal case screening by the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office.
