Drunken Driver Hit 110 MPH in I-287 Chase, State Police Say

A 29-year-old Hillsborough man was drunk when he hit speeds as high as 110 mph while being pursued on Interstate 287 early Friday morning, State Police said.

John Arnold faces charges of driving while intoxicated and eluding, according to NJ.com. The pursuit began when State Police troopers saw the speeding black Dodge Durango Arnold on I-287 northbound in Bernards Township at about 2 a.m. Friday, the article said.

Arnold was allegedly driving at speeds between 70 and 110 mph while being pursued until exiting the highway at Exit 35 in Morris County and hitting a traffic light, the article said.
