Simon-Sponsored Tax Bill Positive, Resident Says

Hillsborough woman says she supports proposed property-tax credit, assemblywoman.

The following Letter to the Editor was submitted by Hillsborough resident Helen Haines.

Dear Editor:

I was happy to read that Donna Simon, our assemblywoman, is sponsoring a bill that will give us an immediate 10 percent credit on our property taxes. She got support from Democrats and Republicans for her tax cut proposal because her priority is to get results, which is refreshing at a time when everyone seems engaged in partisan bickering. New Jersey needs to be more affordable and we have to change our reputation as the highest taxed state in the nation. I congratulate Assemblywoman Simon for keeping her promise that property tax relief would be her first priority. I am supporting Donna Simon in November because she gets it, she knows that we can’t afford any new taxes that Trenton politicians might try to force on us. Donna’s motto is “not another penny”, which I think is something we can all agree with.
