John Beggiato And Thuy Anh Le Running For Hillsborough Township Committee

I was elated to know that John Beggiato and Thuy Anh Le are running for Hillsborough Township Committee

I was elated to know that John Beggiato and Thuy Anh Le are running for Hillsborough Township Committee. They are terrific candidates because they have already been working on behalf of our town. I first met Thuy Anh when she was the Chair of the Sustainable Hillsborough Committee. I came to the meeting to offer my experience as a retired Somerset County Agricultural Agent. She signed me up right away to staff a booth about landscape maintenance and recycling at the Sustainable Hillsborough Family Fair that she ran in 2010.
John Beggiato is the current president of BoroGreen, of which I am a proud board member. Under his direction, we will continue our series of visiting local businesses, such as Lima Farms, to spark an interest in them among Hillsborough residents. This focus helps strengthen the local economy. His leadership style makes it comfortable for board members to make suggestions and have a stake in our grassroots group. Both John and Thuy Anh consistently inspire and empower young and old to speak out, get involved and contribute their skills for the benefit of Hillsborough residents.  I know they also serve in other civic groups and John has lent his technical, financial, and coaching expertise in Hillsborough youth sports organizations and clubs.  He has great skills in finance and technology, and has a “can-do” attitude to get things accomplished. I know that John consistently goes above and beyond because he helped me overcome technical difficulties for my slide presentation for the Rutgers Home Gardener’s School after a BoroGreen board meeting was officially over.
I appreciate that John and Thuy Anh have a vision for Hillsborough in which everyone’s opinion is considered. This makes them qualified to be on the Township Committee because I feel that there currently is little chance for meaningful discussion between Township Committee members and Hillsborough residents.
Besides the visits to local businesses, their vision shows in the other projects that they choose to work on such as the Discover Food Conference at Duke Farms. It was such fun to taste great foods from local farms, to find out when they’re open and where they are located. I have a renewed connection to local farms and will be happy to see familiar faces when I visit them to buy my fresh veggies.
I ask voters to join me in voting for John and Thuy Anh on Tuesday, June 3rd. Maybe you would like to come to a BoroGreen general meeting (www.borogreen.org) and get to know them personally. I’m sure you’ll agree that they will be great Township Committee members for Hillsborough. Clare Liptak
