Patricia Egan Parsons, 80, Helped Grandchildren With 4H Projects

Longtime Department of Human Services secretary was also active at Mary Mother of God Church.

Patricia K. “Pat” Egan Parsons, 80, died Dec. 22 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville.

Born and raised in Perth Amboy, she resided in Manville before moving to Hillsborough in 1963.

Prior to retiring in 1997, Pat was employed as a secretary for over 25 years by the State of NJ Department of Human Services in Skillman. Previously, she was employed by Westinghouse in Edison for six years, and was also a school bus driver for Valcheck Bus Company in Hillsborough.

As a communicant at Mary Mother of God Church in Hillsborough, she volunteered for Adoration. Pat also was involved with horses, rabbits and chickens with her children, then her grandchildren for Somerset County 4H.

Daughter of the late Michael and Mary Egan, she was predeceased by her husband, Ronald S. Parsons, Sr. in 1999, her daughter, Peggy Ann Parsons-Marcine in 2010 and a brother, Michael J. Egan, in 2004.

Surviving are her son, Ronald S. Parsons, Jr. of Hillsborough; her brother, John Egan of South Amboy and her two granddaughters, Patricia K. Marcine-Johle and Danielle Marcine.

Funeral Services were held Dec. 28 from the Hillsborough Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Resurrection at Mary Mother of God Church in Hillsborough and interment at Neshanic Cemetery.
