Lillian Shaffer, 76, Always Put Others Ahead of Herself

Visitation Friday for retired production manager at RC Fine Foods.

Lillian (Lily) Shaffer, 76, of Hillsborough, passed away Dec. 29, 2013. 

She was born on April 22, 1937, in Scranton, Pa., and moved to Hillsborough in 1965.

Lily was a generous, fun loving, compassionate person who always put others ahead of herself.

She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and many friends. She especially enjoyed going to garage sales and the casinos. She lived life by faith, family, friends, and her famous expression, “the good Lord will provide.”

Lillian was employed by R.C. Fine Foods as a production manager. She retired in 2006.

Lillian was predeceased by her parents, Michael & Mary Garback, and her husband, William E. Shaffer.

Surviving are her five children Jean Ball and her husband, Ron, Sharon Horochowski and her husband, Sean Moroney, Richard Walters and his wife, Susan, William Shaffer and his wife, Marian, and Judy Faulkner and her husband, David; twelve grandchildren: John, Jennifer, Richie, Catherine, Jeffrey, Christine, Stacey, Becky, Thomas, Katlyn, Justin, and Kevin; four great grand children: John, Timmy, Dana, Emma, and one expected in March, 2014. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Katherine & Arnold Schick of Scranton, PA.

Lillian’s family would like to express their gratitude to the entire staff at Bridgeway Care & Rehabilitation of Hillsborough for their compassionate care and support.

Visiting will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Hillsborough Funeral Home.
