Edward Galicki, 86, Served in U.S. Navy in World War II
Enjoyed furniture crafting and solving crossword puzzles.
Edward H. Galicki, 86, died Jan. 18, 2014 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville.
Born and raised in Trenton, son of the late John and Hedwig (Bielski) Galicki, he settled in Hillsborough with his family to the house he built in 1959.
Edward faithfully served his country with the United States Navy during World War II as a Seaman 1st class. He retired in 2005 after 28 years with Saker ShopRites, Inc., in Freehold, where he was a maintenance technician.

With his carpentry skills, Edward enjoyed making furniture for family and friends, and was an avid crossword puzzler.
He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church in Manville.

Besides his parents, Edward was predeceased by his beloved wife, Eleanor (Tarashuk) Galicki in 1998; and his sister, Irene Bellan.
Edward is survived by four children, David Galicki, and his wife Lillian, of Hillsborough; Mary Jane, and her husband Ronald Yoder, of Hillsborough; Kathleen and her husband Hank Erskine, of Green Brook; and Thomas Galicki and his wife Colleen, of Green Brook. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Amy, Corey, Keith, Matthew, Jessica, Lindsay, Michael, Andrew, and Samantha; and two great-grandchildren, Aiden and Jack.
Services were held on Wednesday at Fucillo and Warren Funeral Home, followed by interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Hillsborough.
