Obituary: Billy McCaw, 22, A Hillsborough Native

A wake will be held Thursday and Friday, with a funeral service Friday night.

The following is the obituary for Kean University student William "Billy" McCaw who died in New Brunswick. It was written by his family and distributed by the Hillsborough Funeral Home. 

Billy McCaw, 22, of Gallatin, Tennessee and formerly of Hillsborough went to rest in the arms of his Heavenly Father on February 15, 2014.

He was born on December 19, 1991 to Bob and Mary McCaw in Somerville, NJ.
Billy was a 2010 graduate of Station Camp High School in Gallatin, TN where he was named to the Tennessee All State Soccer Team his senior year and was a captain for the team during both of his years there. An avid sports fan, in particular a Rutgers fan, he was enrolled at the time of his passing at Kean University in Union, NJ and maintained a strong presence in the Rutgers community where he had previously been a student.

Billy will always be remembered for his quick smile, sense of humor and his supreme loyalty as a son, brother, teammate and friend.

In addition to his parents, Billy is survived by his sisters Kelsey, of Arlington, VA, Carrie of Gallatin, brother Matthew, also of Gallatin, grandfather Dr. Fred Lathrop of Readington, NJ, grandparents Don and Janet McCaw of Bluffton, SC, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandmother June Lathrop.

A funeral service will be Friday, at 7 p.m., at the Calvary Bible Chapel, 144 Readington Rd. in Whitehouse Station, NJ. Visiting will be on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9, and Friday from 2-4 in Hillsborough Funeral Home at 796 US Hwy 206, Hillsborough, New Jersey.
